Barry is a 1975 graduate of Villanova Law School. After law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable E.W. Van Horn Jr., in the Bedford County Court of Common Pleas and The Honorable Morris Terrizzi in the Huntington County Court of Common Pleas.

In 1978, Barry opened a private law practice in Bedford, Pennsylvania, where he has represented thousands of clients.

Since 1984, Barry has also represented the needs of neglected & abused children as the County Solicitor for Bedford County Children & Youth Services. From 1987 to 1991 Barry served as a Bedford County Assistant District Attorney under District Attorney Donely C. Logue, Jr.

Barry is an avid cyclist, an amateur chef, and a coffee nerd. He also enjoys immersing himself in the Sunday New York Times Crossword Puzzle and an endless supply of books and news. He has two children, both of whom live in Philadelphia.
